Pros: great motor and cutters
Cons: Quality Construction, Jam Resistance, badly designed plastic mounts
"I found this shredder in the garbage. I took it a part and cleaned it and remounted the motor which had come off. I used Superglue on the posts that were broken. It worked like a charm for 3 years. Today I noticed it was coming a part at the seams, so to speak, and spent about 30 minutes digging around in the screw bin for various lengths and head widths until I found three that would suffice. I was down to 3 posts and one of them had come off at the top, so I needed an extra long screw and a washer to keep the screw from going through the top. Wallah, back in business again. So, the motor and gear design and the shredding cutters are durable and work great but the plastic casing is terrible. The posts should have been designed to be free floating from the beginning, thereby eliminating the greater possibility of breakage. The gear/motor mount should have been made out of metal since it was the first to go. I fashioned a mount out of aluminum. The guts are good and outlast the frame they are mounted inside. I would recommend this inexpensive product for anyone who is handy enough to bolster the mounting design flaws. The motor, gears and cutters are well designed and will last for years of service without trouble."
