Pros: Sheet Capacity, Quality Construction
Cons: Mess Reduction, Secure Cut Size, Quiet Operation, Jam Resistance, paper slot not wide enough
"this shredder is o.k. so far. The only criticism I have found is that the slot is not wide enough to be confortable while shredding pages. Multiple pages tend to wad up because the slot isn't as wide as 81/2 inches wide."

Cons: no wheels on the unit, no wheels on the waste basket
"Product is very well built, I have purchased several different shredders from different company's and have been very disapointed with the product after purchasing the product. I would definatley recommend this shredder to other people and not worry about the shredder not meeting the expectations of the person I recommended it to."

Pros: Safety Features
Cons: Jam Resistance, very loud
"I had an old fellows shredder that worked great. unfortunately the directions did not state to use shredder oil. I bought this shredder to replace the old. it is harder to feed paper into it compared to my old shredder. It is very loud. I have shredded credit cards without problem. It seems to work ok."

Features wide 9” paper entry? Where?

Jam Resistance:

Safe Operation:

Pros: Safety Features, good led light notification
Cons: Sheet Capacity, Secure Cut Size, Jam Resistance, paper entry, paper feed size
"I read reviews stating, the position to feed paper is hard to get at; Yep. Because you must force the paper toward the CD slot BEHIND the safety plate. The company failed to make a slot for paper feed.
Moving the safety cover over the CD position helps a lot. However, forget the specified 9" paper entry - the slot is only 5" wide, requiring you to "tear" of fold a letter size sheet in half to feed.
12 sheets per pass? Not if a business envelope with a glassine window is involved. My shredder deposited readable clumps, not cutting completely through (6 sheets) in many places (see photo). Just purchase my DM12ct (Sat.) and looking forward to witnessing the promised customer support Monday."

Response from Fellowes:By Fellowes Quality Assurance Team, August 30, 2010
Hi Anonymous, I represent the Fellowes Quality Assurance Team who responds to consumer on-line product reviews and would like the opportunity to help resolve the issue you are experiencing with you DM12Ct.
Here are a couple tips for you to get the most out of your DM12Ct: - The DM12Ct has a front-feed paper opening of 9" and also a 5" opening for CD shredding (located on the safety cover.) When shredding paper, make sure the CD safety cover is pushed to the back, so the 9" paper opening is visible. To shred CDs, slide the cover to the front. More details and images can be found in your user manual.
- Unopened junk mail can be the equivalent of 15-20 sheets of paper, depending on how the paper is folded inside the envelope and the thickness of the paper. The DM12Ct has a sheet capacity of 12, so some unopened junk mail may be too thick for this machine. Additionally, envelopes should not be shred through the CD slot.
We hope following these simple performance tip will help remedy the issues you are experiencing and ensure you get the most out of your DM12Ct shredder.
If you have any questions please feel free to call Fellowes Customer Service at 800-955-0959 and one of our representatives will be happy to help diagnose the problem and find a solution.
Sincerely, Fellowes Quality Assurance Team e-mail: fellowes_shredders@fellowes.com
