"This shredder is rather noisy compared to previous shredders. It shredds several pages at a time easily, which is very nice. I like the safety features. I have to really "push" the papers into it to get them started shredding. The shredder doesn't just grab the papers and pull them in. We have only had the shredder for a couple of weeks but it has jammed on me several times already. It has been an easy fix when it did jam."
"Overall, this machine has met our expectations except for one attribute. And that attribute is the shedder's tendancy to heat up relatively quickly and thus, requiring a period of inactivity to cool down.
The primary purpose of our purchasing this machine was to purge certain private papers such as tax returns older than 7 years and other bills and sensitive documents that are no longer needed for audit purposes.
The machine stalled several times during the time that we were shredding hundreds of documents and resulted in a longer time to complete the task.
Other than this one drawback we are happy with the machine."

Response from Fellowes:By Fellowes Quality Assurance Team, September 20, 2010
Dear Anonymous, I represent the Fellowes Quality Assurance Team who responds to consumer online product reviews. I'm sorry that you are not completely satisfied with your DM12Ct.
When shredding for several minutes, most household and office shredders require time for the motor to cool down before they will run again. This prevents the motor from overheating and causing irreparable damage to your shredder. In the case of the DM12Ct, the motor has a run time of 20 minutes before it will need a 40 minute cool down period. There are many continuous duty shredders in the market; however, they are typically the commercial size machines.
If this tip doesn't help remedy the problem sufficiently please contact Fellowes Customer Service at 800-955-0959 or email us at the address below. We will work to resolve any remaining issues to your satisfaction.
Thank you for taking the time to provide a review on Fellowes.com. We value consumer feedback and are committed to offering the most innovative solutions, exceptional product quality, and first class service and support.
