Pros: Quiet Operation, Sheet Capacity, Quality Construction, Shreds Credit Cards, Staples and CDs, Safety Features, Secure Cut Size, Jam Resistance, small footprint
Cons: somewhat topheavy
" I'm from a small town in North Idaho. Tax time is coming up and this year I'm determined to shred all of my old (older than 7 yrs) tax records. I checked locally and on the internet and nothing satisfied my requirements. I decided to purchase a Fellows DMC 12+ because I had a very old home Fellows model and it worked well for 20+ years but couldn't handle the load I required. I worked for 8-10 hours straight and finally shreded all my old tax, bank, and household records. I never had one problem with my Fellows although it halted (normal operation) to cool down from time-to-time. This is a grrreat machine! "

" I looked at lots of shredders and shredder reviews for a home shredder, and Fellowes came out on top every time--for home AND office! Now that I have used it, I understand why.
For a college-level educator (which I am), confidentiality is a big issue. This shredder eats up old student papers, whether stapled or paper-clipped, very easily. It even seems to beg for more!
It sucks in the papers I feed it and chops them up faster than I can get them ready to feed. A couple of times I gave it too much at once, but though it slowed down, it still chopped them up just fine. Once I jammed it--totally my fault--and I just followed Fellowes' instructions to switch from forward to reverse several times; it cleared quickly.
It is easy to feed, easy to operate, and easy to empty (if I don't let it get too full!), though it tends to drop some shreddings outside the bin when I remove it. Overall, though, it is far superior to what I used in an office previously, and I'm thrilled to have it in my home now! "

" For a number of years my wife and I used the Fellows P600C-2 personal shredder. We purchased the DM12Ct because of the larger shredding capacity . The personal shredder worked well for small quantities of paper but is very limiting when having to shred larger quanties of paper more often.
The DM12Ct has met our needs and has been performing exceptionally well. It chews up multiple sheets of paper without any issues. It doesn't back up or slow down as the paper goes through the machine. Likewise, it easily shreds credit cards and CD's without jamming.
In summary we are very happy with this purchase and its performance. "

" This is the second Fellowes Shredder I own. I can attest to its durability and consistency. Just follow the instructions, if it states the the unit only can handle 12 sheets that is what it is built to handle. Don't try to over burden the machine and then complain. Respect the piece of equipment and you will have it for many years to come. "
