" This is the best shredder I have ever used. It is quiet, reliable, and safe to use. It has jammed on me but it was because I tried to feed it too quickly. It can be a little messy to dump if you don't use bag inserts.

" I've had shredders before but none made me feel totally secure until I purchased the MS-450Cs. This micro cut shredder, I believe, makes it impossible to reassemble any documents passed through it. It is a little pricey compared to other strip shredders but what price do you put on total security and piece of mind?

" Your shredder MS-450C was gave to me as a Christmas present in 2007.
The early part of February, 2008, paper started getting stuck in the left side of the teeth of the shredder. The shredder then started working, however, only part of the time, even when flipping the switch on the side.
While attempting to take the shredder back to Office Max where it was purchased, I was informed they only had a 30 day guarantee. Also, they informed me that apparently the shredder oil was not used as often as it should have been. I will give the manager credit, he put a shredder oil sheet through the shredder and it did work. Until I brought it back home.
I thought for sure that the shredder had become another expensive junk gift.
After fumbling with the shredder for a few months more, I decided to call Fellows and complain about the product. To my surprise, the gentlemen on the other end of the telephone asked me for the model and serial number of my shredder. He put me on hold for a couple of minutes, came back and told me they would be sending me a new shredder. All I had to do was cut the cord on my non-working shredder and trash it. I asked him if I should send the non-working shredder back, he told me no. Imagine my surprise when a new shredder arrived a few days later with no more questions asked.
And today almost one year later my shredder is still working like new. Finally a product I would recommend to anyone. It is a little more than one would usually pay for a shredder; however, it has outlasted three shredders (of another make) that we used at the office. "

" This shredder gives actual mini crosscut to everything you desire destroyed. Unlike similiar claims, this product performs as claimed. Have you ever used a proclaimed cross cut shredder to find that you can still read what has been shredded from each small strip? There is absolutely no reading of shredded items with this product. Must see to believe.

" I have not had many problems with this shredder. We are a small church and don't use it that frequently (about 2 or 3 times a week). The shredder we use does jam but it is really simple to unjam so it really isn't a problem.

" I recently bought the 450ms after buying and returning another brand.
My first shredder was a Fellowes that I bought years ago and it still works great. However, it was only a strip shredder and I wanted something more secure. Costco had a deal on a cross cut shredder so I picked it up and from the start it was not very good. It had an awful smell like the motor burning up. It was loud and only did a fair job of shredding, and practically slowed to a crawl when putting in more than one sheet. After 1 day we took it back and started looking around. After reading a number of reviews for Fellowes shredders and almost every single one was positive and based upon my past experience I felt confident in getting another Fellowes branded shredder.
I have only had this one a few days but it is a night and day difference from the other shredder I picked up from Costco. This thing is QUIET, much more so than the other one. I can put in a bunch of sheets and it chews right through them without slowing down. The pieces are so small that it would be impossible for someone to reassemble a sensitive document from the pieces. So far it works great.
My only complaint is that I wish the temp warning light came on sooner as you get close to the shut down temp. Unfortunately, it seems to come on at the same time the unit stops. At least it lets you know why it stopped. It would be nice to get the warning sooner so you can give the shredder a break before it overheats. perhaps a green, to yellow to red set of LEDs to let you know how close you are to max operating temp would do the trick.
Anyway, I would certainly recommend this to anyone looking for a good, secure shredder for small office/Home office type work. If you have a lot of work to do, the continuous run time is OK but it's not like you can shread for a hour at a time. Unfortunately, I got behind on paperwork and have lots of piles to work through.
Nice work Fellowes, so far, I really like your quality and design. Just make that light come on sooner.

" I love this shredder for shredding paper. It works as advertised and shreds up to 7 sheets of paper per pass. I was disappointed in the credit card shredder part because rather than micro cut the card it cuts it either into strips or cuts it into what looks like a folded paper fan so it's still all together.

" Everything is great so far. The only thing I think that could use improvement is the Pull-out Bin. It would be nice if it latched in better. I don't know if we are doing something wrong or if it's just the design. We have two different Fellowes shredders and they both have problems with the bin not staying in when we put the shredder bags in.
