" I bought this shredder to replace a single user shredder from Fellowes. At first I thought it was very expensive but after using it for several weeks, I have found that it's worth it becuase I know it will last me a long time. It's quieter than what I had before, so I am satisfied. It also is a step up in security for me because of the micro-cut level. I am enjoying all the safety feature especially the feature to prevent injury should hands get too close. This is a very important feature when young children can come in contact. It give me peace of mind that I am buying something that puts safety as one of it's priorities. It's like buying insurance.

" This shredder is excellent. It's dependable, safe and easy to use. Our office is very busy and we have the need to shred sensitive information. This machine handles our workload and is easy to maintain and empty. Many of the administrative offices in our campus have the fellowes shredders and are all extremely happy with their performance.
I would recommend this shredder for any one looking to invest in a good quality piece of equipment for their office or home.

" This is easily the best shredder I've owned. I placed it in my office at work, and it is so quiet that others can use it without interrupting my telephone calls. It has never jammed, even when I exceed the recommended # of sheets. It is the first shredder (yes, I have had older, cheaper Fellowes models) that I feel can last forever.

" I love how quiet this shredder is. I can continue to take phone orders while others are using this machine. And talk about safe! Get your fingers anywhere near the slot and it stops just like that. I'll never have to worry about getting hurt with this one.

" The shredder is quieter than expected based on some of the previous reviews. The basket full light comes on before it is really full. You can pull the basket out and press down on the particles to fit more paper. The only negative is that is does not handle paper clips or large staples.

" This unit replaces a Fellowes 460cs shredder which made it about 16 months. It too worked well. One day, it just did not work - period. You guessed it - out of warranty - out of luck.

" Particle size is a chief reason to buy this model. When you buy one of these things from Fellowes, use it until it drops. Here's why.
Contrary to well-regarded industry opinion, Preventive Mainternance (PM) on this unit from one authorized service center actually made the thing work much worse immediately after service. I took it in because it was getting noisier than when new, and there was a loose screw inside rattling around in it. I suspected it needed some preventive maintenance, even though it was working well.
The repair shop found two loose screws in it. After "repair" it didn't cut as well as before -- seemed to be suddenly much duller, and rapidly degenerated into a shredder which could only cut paper on one end of the cutter. Paper on the right side was mashed, not cut. Pointless to take it back to such a repair shop.
This higher end unit (MS-460ci) was purchased specifically for its repairability (many Fellowes units are not serviceable!). But wasting $100 for a depot service center to degrade its performance was a real eye-opener. The three previous Fellowes units were likewise disappointments because no one in the Baltimore - D.C. area could service them.
The blades in many of these units are cheap stampings rather than machined, hardened, cutter heads. Paper is abrasive and inevitably wears the cutters by increased heating, accelerated wear, and so on. The duller the cutters are, the duller they get and the harder the machine works. These low end units are simply added to the cost of doing business: Fellowes doesn't help lower that with this model. "
