" I've had this shredder a few weeks and it has thus far performed very well!
It is very fast, more powerful than I expected (it eats large stacks of paper without problems) and pretty quiet. Easy to oil, looks nice, and the space-ship looking info lights are neat. Safesense works as advertised, shutting off the motor when a finger goes near the mouth of the shredder. The document holder can be mounted on either side, a handy bonus.
It's interesting that the slide-out basket comes out the skinny way, whereas most come out the wide way. Works well for my particular desk configuration!
The only negative I can see is that some of the shreds miss the basket. You must reach in there and scoop them out when emptying the basket. Very few, but enough to make a neat-nick like myself notice.
Overall, a great shredder for the money!

" This machine does everything it claims to do, and is very quiet to operate. The only downside is the waste basket seems to fill to one side and set off the safety shutoff prematuraly. One has to open the drawer and shake it down to continue (about four or five times before it's full).

" This shredder is an animal-it works like a quiet pitbull. I've only owned it for a short time, but you can tell when something is quality made. I only use it at my home, and it's probably a little over kill, but I've gone thru 2 smaller shredders and I'm tired of them breaking after about a year. This unit will save me money in the long run, and it really doesn't take up much space. I would definately recommend this shredder.

" Being a sheriff, I budgeted two (2) shredders in the FY '08-'09 budget. These "commercial" shredders were purchased from a locally owned office supply business, who we had and continue to do business with.
Within months, both developed problems. One with a motor and the other with the cutters. The business would not stand behind these shredders and as a result, I refused to purchase anymore shredders from them, for the office. The local business also knew I was unhappy with their lack of service and support on the shredders.
When I researched the SB-99Ci and the excellent warranty, I gave in and purchased one (1) unit, as a trial.
This unit is in my office and I along with my office manager are very pleased with its performance and the warranty that came with it.
It is my intention to purchase another one in the near future for the office. "

" It works. Plan and simple. It's well constructed, and performs as advertised. Catch bin is large. I have one constructive criticism and one feature request.
The criticism is that the side pocket can be knocked off too easily. Not a big deal, but would be nice if, when you connected it, it stayed.
The featre request is that we have an optional catch pocket we could temporarily put inside to catch DVD/CD/Credit Card shredded pieces. This way it would be easier to keep things separated for recycling purposes.
But, all in all, very glad with purchase. Thank you Fellowes.
