" Wow. This shredder is so much quieter than our old Fellowes. It easily shredded a 2 inch stack of papers in just a few minutes. I hope it lasts as long as our old one. We have had it 12 years and its still going strong, we just grew and needed a shredder that could handle more volume. :)

" We haven't had the machine very long, so time will tell how long it actually lasts. However, it seems to be a very solid, good quality machine. So far, we like how it operates and looks, and it is much more quiet than our previous shredder.The addition of waste bags will reduce mess, however, they add to environmental waste. We will likely not use bags.

" First impressions lead me to give this a 5 star rating. It appears to be a solid performer & I was surprised at how quiet it was. What was important to me during the selection period was that I would be able to empty the bin effortlessly. The 6 gallon pull out bin is great. A bit on the pricey side but well worth it if it lives up to it's jam proof claim.

" This Fellowes shredder appears to have a stronger cutter motor than the HSM shredder it replaced. This shredder has all the bells and whistles that one could ask for in a desk side shredder. It also has a convenient waste bin that is easy to pull out so that it can be emptied without having to worry about getting paper shredding everywhere. Thanks Fellowes for making such a reliable and convenient shredder.

" Our older Fellowes shedder finally had to be retired, because the bin broke and couldn't be replaced. Otherwise we wouldn't have needed to replace it, as it was still going strong after over 15 years of great service. This newer model is every bit as good, indeed better, as it has improved features. Though seemingly a minor matter, the caster feet are a great addition. The Powershred 79Ci also looks great. Looking forward to many years of continued great service from it.

" Fellowes Powershred 79Ci cross cut 100% jam proof paper shredder is jam-packed with special features that make its use easy and safe. It delivers a generous amount of security for a deskside paper shredder and is rated as security level 3 machine. The 79Ci is quite similar to the Fellowes Powershred 73Ci, which comes at a slightly lower price. The 79Ci has a larger sheet capacity of 14 sheets compared to 73Ci that can take 12 sheets at a time. Moreover, the Powershred 79Ci with a feed opening of 9 inch is able to easily shred letter and legal sized documents. The 79Ci is also not as sleek as the 73Ci, in fact its designed in a boxier shape, which makes it a perfect deskside paper shredder for personal use at home or office. Equipped with SafeSense technology that stops shredding operation when hands touch the feed opening!

" I purchased this Fellowes 79Ci Crosscut Shredder because my previous shredder, a single cut Fellowes shredder finally died. The shredder had worked well for about 3 years before it It had a lightening caused electrical short that fried the electric transformer in the wall. I replaced it with a variable transformer from Radio Shack, and it worked fine for another 8 years.before it jammed on a stapled over thick packet of paper. I never even thought of purchasing any other brand the a new Fellowes! So, I logically thought of a cross cut machine that could cut staples--when necessary--as will as CD's,old credit cards, and 16 sheets of paper at one time. Great product!
