" Just replaced our Fellowes shredder with another new Fellowes shredder after using every day in my office for over 9 years. The other MAIN reason we buy Fellowes shredders is the fact it has the safety if anyone (small children or out pets or others with long hair, etc.) stops in and should accidentally go near this shredder it immediately stops. This should be a law that all shredders have this. I saw a video years ago when a dog got his tongue caught in a shredder and I never got over that site. Thank god not our dogs but regardless the thought that it can happen is more than enough reason to purchase only a shredder that has this safety feature. The replacement unit seems slightly upgraded with a timer that shuts the unit off if not in use a while and starts right back up if you insert a paper to shred (leaving that safety factor still in tack). The shredder is definitely a winner for all the above reasons

" I just purchased a new 79Ci as a replacement for my old 64C which lasted about 7 years and was great until the motor finally burned out. Think I used it for too long a time and the indicator went Red and stayed red every time I tried to use if after that. The shredder would go backward for a second but never forward. I guess it finally went. However, when I had it for the approx. 7 years, I used it a lot and it always worked well. Just bought a replacement which is advertised as a little stronger so I am hoping that it will out last my lifetime. Fellows makes a great shredder and I have never been sorry with the performance but after retiring as a CPA I just had too many files and papers to shred over the years.

" Great shredder! I have been used to using < $100 basic home shredders, so this is a huge upgrade. The sturdy metal shredding teeth are much more durable than cheaper machines. The 16 sheet capacity makes bigger jobs quicker. The features of the Safesense (turns off motor if fingers touch feed slot) and Jam Proof (automatic reversing and refeeding if a jam is detected) are not necessary, but add to the worry free and speedy operation of the machine. I am very happy that this time I replaced my shredder with a tougher machine!

" I am now the proud owner of my 2nd Powershred 79Ci. The first one we have owned for approximately 7 years. It was getting a bit tired, but is now in my husbands shop for his use. The new one is in my office! YEAH. This product does everything it says it will do. I have shred everything from single sheets to credit cards, to CDs with no problem. My only con is the drawer is a bit tricky to lock into place. Other than that it is perfect in everyway. LOVE IT! The Fellowes company is wonderful at answering questions and giving support if needed. They will continue to have our business.

" I initially bought a Fellowes Powershred 79Ci almost 9 years ago. I use it everyday for work and personal papers. Hence, it has had a considerable amount of use. When the reverse no longer worked, I searched to see if there was a shredder I might like better, but my research brought me back to buying this shredder again. I am delighted to find the current 79Ci shreds up to 16 pages at a time, whereas my old 79Ci shredded 13 pages at a time.

" Compact unit that performs as expected. Have not stressed the unit to its max cutting/shredding limit.Nice to have wheels for mobility. Would recommend for home or small business. Not as quiet as I would have expected but acceptable.

Love the size of it. Does not take up much room and can easily slide under my desk. I also like the fact that I don’t have to worry if a staple or a paper clip goes thru and that I can shred up all that junk mail. You won’t be disappointed. It is a great shredder.
